MINISTRIES, GROUPS & ACTIVITIES

  • ALTAR SERVERS
    ​Boys and girls are invited to become Altar Servers after the completion of their Sacramental Program (Baptism, Confirmation & Communion). ​
  • BAPTISMAL PREPARATION
    The aim of this ministry is to co-ordinate the preparation of children for receiving the sacrament of Baptism
  • CARE & CONCERN
    To care for those in the parish in their time of need. Co-ordinate anointing mass by providing transport and refreshments, home and nursing home visiting
  • CHILDREN'S LITURGY
    Children’s liturgy is held during the 9.30am Mass. The children begin the Liturgy with a familiar song and prayer, they listen to a children’s version of the Gospel and embark on activities. The children return to the Mass at the offertory procession.
  • CHURCH CLEANING
    The aim of this ministry is to keep the church clean and provide a sense of respect for our place of worship, 
  • CIRCLE OF PRAYER
    Linked to the Rosary Group, members pray for special intentions and anyone in need of prayers support.
  • COMMUNION TO SICK
    To help the housebound to feel they are always part of the faith community by keeping them informed of what is happening in the parish. Bringing communion to them, praying with them and sharing the Word of the Lord 
  • COLLECTORS
    A team of collectors take up the collections at each mass.
  • ENVIRONMENT AND ART
    The altar decorations display the different liturgical seasons. The altar is designed and decorated according to religious traditions, to observe and celebrate such seasons appropriately and is a visible sign of love and reverence toward God. 
  • FINANCE COUNCIL
    To assist the priest with the effective management of the parish finances, including consultation and making recommendations when applicable. Liaise with the parish school. 
  • FRIENDS OF ST JUDE AND ST JOHN VIANNEY'S
    We welcome new parishioners to our monthly get together held at a different residence each month as we have been doing for the past forty years
  • GARDENING
    This ministry maintains church gardens and provides a sense of respect for our place of worship.
  • HOSPITALITY AND WELCOME
    To welcome all parishioners and visitors and make them feel part of a welcoming community. Also provide a cuppa and refreshments after 9.30am mass.
  • KNIGHTS OF THE SOUTHERN CROSS
    The KSC promotes the advancement of Australia by foster a Christian way of life , promoting the welfare of members and their families, encouraging social and intellectual activities amongst members and their families and conducting and supporting educational, charitable, religious and social welfare work.
  • LinC
    LinC is a network of churches working alongside agencies in a local community that links human needs with human resources through a referral centre.
  • LITURGY
    Planning and preparing our regular liturgies and those for special occasions and co-ordinates with the Music Ministry, Sacristans and RCIA.
  • MONEY COUNTERS
    A team of counters count and collate the collections after mass each week.
  • PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL
    The Parish Pastoral Council is a group of parishioners who are elected by their fellow parishioners to join the Parish Priest in sharing responsibility for the development of the Parish faith community the parish mission. Members serve a term of two years.
  • READERS
    The Liturgy of the Word is equally as important as the Liturgy of the Eucharist. Readers proclaim the Word of God.
  • ROSARY GROUP
    Rosary group meets each Wednesday. We bring to our prayer the needs of the world at large, our parish, our private and personal needs. We socialise with a morning tea, and buy and sell craft goods giving the money to different charities each month.
  • SACRAMENTAL PROGRAMME
    The aim of this ministry is to co-ordinate the preparation of children for receiving the sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist and Confirmation
  • SACRISTANS
    This ministry gives greater awareness of the preparation that is required for the celebration of the mass.
  • SOCIAL/CARDS GROUP
    We meet to play cards or games etc, and enjoy company in a social setting.
  • ST VINCENT DE PAUL
    Members meet for prayer and support, and to share their work of service to the needy, comprising home visitation characterised by respect, compassion, and integrity.
